Meet the Farney Elementary PTO Board

Our PTO Board is made up of hard-working parents who pool their talents to provide practical support for our school. Those listed below volunteered to provide leadership this year. Get to know their names and faces, and feel free to ask them if you have questions.

Hi! My husband, Matt, and I moved to Cypress eight years ago. We have three daughters:  Shelby (Junior in College), Bekah (4th grade), and Morgan (3rd grade). I live on coffee most days as I juggle my roles as the development assistant of a local non-profit and a wanna-be super mom. This is my fourth year on the Farney PTO Board. I love throwing elaborately themed parties, binge-watching British documentaries, and spending time with my amazing friends.

I have lived in and around the Houston area all of my life.  My husband and I settled in the CyFair area once we decided to start a family as we heard the schools were top notch.  I have been married for 10 years to my husband Scott and we have a 7 year old daughter that will be Second Grade this school year.

We are all avid Astros fans and love doing activities with our Church, Community of Faith.

Hello, my name is Lindsay Thomas and I’m serving as the VP of Special Events for the 2021-2022 Farney PTO. I have two kids at Farney - my son, Cain, will be in 5th grade and my daughter, Quinn, will be in 4th grade. My family and I moved to Cypress, TX 7 years ago from Las Vegas, NV. At first, I wasn’t sure if we made the right decision moving to TX. But I believe God put us here for a reason and now I couldn't imagine being anywhere else. We’ve made some really great friends in our Stablewood Farms neighborhood and are very involved with our church family at Second Baptist.

Hi, I'm Brandy Egege. This my second year on the PTO Board. I have also served as a student mentor at Farney.

My family and I moved to the Cypress area from England. My husband is Franklyn and we have a son, Osas (9) who will be in the fourth grade this year. We have found Texas to be an amazing state to live in with all of its rich diversity and resources. We attend Real Life Church in Tomball and are active in Farney Cub Scouts Pack 978 where I serve on the committee as well.
I attended university at Albany State University where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. I have worked in the area of child protection in Georgia, Florida, and England.
Event planning, photography, craft making, helping others, making memories with family, and collecting vintage items are the things that make my heart smile.

An NC native, I joined friends and family in the Houston area in 2018 with my spouse of 25 years and our two children. For this school year, we have a 4th grader at Farney and 7th grader at Goodson. As a family we are active in Scouting, Taekwondo, and swimming. I'm an avid 'maker' with a wide variety of media (fabric, yarn, microelectronics, wood, paint, clay, etc.) and entrepreneur.
This is my second year on the Farney PTO board and second time in this role, however I have volunteered with another PTO as treasurer for two years and on multiple fundraising committees, as well as in fundraising support roles for a variety of non-profit organizations.

Hello, my name is Marisela Avila and I am the VP of Secondary Fundraising. I moved to Texas in 2008. I graduated from CySprings in 2013 and that Is where I met my fiancé. We have a beautiful daughter, Marissa, which is a kindergartner at Farney. This is my first year on the board and I’m super excited for more years to come. As a family, we love to go fishing and camping but my passion is for makeup and crafting!

My name is Alea Koblenz, and my husband and I are both graduates of CFISD (but we can keep the class years a secret!). My gift-daughter, Brittney, graduated class of 2021 from CyRanch, and my gift-son, Ryan, will be a Junior this year at CyRanch. My daughter, Haley, has been at Farney since Kindergarten, and this is her final year, as she’s in 5th grade. I have loved being at Farney the last five years, and will be sad to close this chapter. When I’m not a chauffeur getting Haley to dance and volleyball, I work full time as a Sr. Property Accountant for a multi housing developer. We are also members of and are involved at Second Baptist Church - Cypress.
